Here is the desk where the master of the house, Thomas Whaley, would sit and total his losses from the various enterprises under his command...night after night...month after month...year after year...with only his black top hat and blood-red lamp to cheer his spirits. By all accounts, he was a gregarious personality, and it is said that visitors can sometimes hear his baritone laughter echoing through the house; but is it the laughter of happiness ...or resignation ...or MADNESS?
Note the snowflake shaped orb on the right. Very unusual, as this photo was taken in summer. The bright orb and whispy ectoplasm in the middle is just your host and his camera, reflected upon the clear plastic panel that bars entry to the room; one of many such panels throughout the house that others sometimes fail to mention when publishing their ghostly Whaley House photos.
